Compete To Win Compete To Help

We Could Use Your Help!

Jason and ZoeFebruary 16, 2010: This 1990 photo of Zoe and me was taken in my studio.  Two of my kinetic resin sculptures and the red, three tiered table I designed and built are beside us.  The table still looks fine, and I still have the Dieffenbachia plant that's on the window sill.  The plant has gone through many cuttings and rejuvenations.  I now have two large plants and two smaller ones, all from the original.

The Manx can only be a success with your help.  I designed the Manx over fifteen years ago.  Like other promising projects, it got put on the back burner due to my work with tigers and the memorial project honoring our fallen in Afghanistan and Iraq, which began six and a half years ago.

About one year ago I decided to resurrect the Manx event.  I redesigned the puzzle and gave the presentation medium a facelift.  Several large scale Manx events would generate the funds needed for memorial construction.  But none of this will happen without interested individuals who are willing to lend us a hand.

Manx TicketI entered the social media networking world and began the promotion.  You know how long it can take to build a large following.  On the other hand, you know how quickly the word can spread if enough people begin talking about a subject.  Social networking offers an incredible potential to reach the masses in a short time span.  That's what we need to happen.

I would like you to get involved and give some serious thought about how you can help us promote the Manx.  I have Zoe and me promoting the Manx on YouTube.  Here are some ideas you might consider.

  • Use your personal networking skills to promote Manx competitions to your friends and followers.  Zoe's YouTube address is and our Twitter address is  You may want to include this page's address as well:  Use our 'Share' button to post.
  • Link to us on your site.  Use our link graphic.
  • If you write a blog, please consider doing a short article on this event and the memorial.  If you don't write a blog but know some bloggers, maybe you could ask them if they would be interested in doing an article.
  • Call your local newspaper and ask for the reporter who does personal interest stories.  Tell the reporter about the Manx event and Zoe's YouTube installments.  They can reach us at this address:
  • If you know any celebrities, please ask them if they would help spread the word.  We have tried to reach quite a few but could never get past their handlers.  We're still trying.
  • If you participate in talk radio, maybe you can bring up the Manx and pass along the site URL.  We would welcome any interviews as well.
  • Local television stations sometimes produce a news segment on a unique event or project.  Call your local TV stations and see if they would consider doing a story.
  • For those of you who use Craig's List, you could post an announcement about the Manx in the Community section under activities, groups, or events.
  • If you would like to become a sponsor of a Manx event through the donation of merchandise or services please contact us.

That's just a few thoughts I have.  If you have some ideas, please get in touch and share them with me.  I really appreciate your assistance.

Sincerely yours,

Jason Savage
